Sport and drama collided last night as St. Eunan’s GAA took on Letterkenny Music and Drama Group in a lip sync battle that was full of surprises.
The Mount Errigal Hotel was packed for the night of friendly musical rivalry between the clubs.
The acts ranged from delightful to daring, with countless costume changes and dance moves that wowed the crowd.
The two winners of the night were Elaine Harvey (aka Mary Poppins) who won the Judges’ vote for her supercalifragilisticexpialidocious characterisation and costumes.
Ollie Harvey and Sam Bogan won the crowd vote for their energetic and highly entertaining throwback to Meatloaf’s concert in the Mount Errigal back in 1990!
The judging panel – Tina Garry, Kieran Kelly, Amanda Woods and Rory Kavanagh – had their work cut out for them in deciding scores, often after being amazed or shell-shocked by the performances… or outrageous get-ups!
Between the songs and the sequins, the night was all for some great causes – proceeds will support the winter production ‘Shrek the Musical’ by LMDG as well as the St Eunan’s GAA minor group.
The night will also benefit the Greg Fitzgerald Recovery Fund, supporting a popular local man on his road to recovery from a stroke.
