Michael Murphy is back on the Donegal senior football panel, two years after announcing his intercounty retirement.
The Glenswilly great, at 35, has been convinced by Jim McGuinness to return to the training panel.
It’s 17 years since Murphy made his debut for the Donegal seniors in 2007.
His legendary career saw him named one of the youngest ever captains of the Donegal senior team in 2010. He led the team to win the county’s second-only Sam Maguire in 2012, as well as winning five Ulster titles and five All-Stars.
Murphy hasn’t slowed down in his retirement – which began almost exactly two years ago – and continued to line out for Glenswilly, making it to the club championship quarter-finals in September.
Murphy is the current Head of Sport at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Donegal and has worked as a pundit for BBC Sport Northern Ireland, RTÉ Sport and others.
