The FIT4FARMLIFE programme in Inishowen concluded last week with celebratory event at the Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa.
The programme, managed locally by Inishowen Development Partnership, funded by the Department of Agriculture, was designed to promote the health, safety, and well-being of farmers in the Inishowen region.
Fifty-six individuals who work and reside on farms across Inishowen participated in the four-week programme looking at their health and mental health.
The programme featured a diverse range of expert facilitators who provided valuable insights and practical advice. Roisin Doherty, a Nurse Practitioner, emphasised the importance of moderation in all aspects of life and conducted mini health checks. Sarah Toye, a Clinical Nurse Specialist with the HSE, highlighted the significance of mental health awareness.
Shane McHugh from Teagasc focused on farm safety tips, while Fit4You with Tommy Mulhern introduced gentle movement and fitness techniques.
Rhona Hannigan demonstrated healthy cooking methods using an air fryer.
