Newtowncunningham journalist Stephen Robb will showcase some of the best of Donegal’s poultry produce in his second episode of the new season of RTÉ’s Ear to the Ground.
The programme saw a staggering 39% share in audience figures last week as it returned for its 32nd season with Robb joining the presenting team.
This Thursday 7th November will see two features from Donegal on the show.
Robb will be heading to Clonmany to the Noone poultry farm, which has undergone a remarkable transformation. Once focused solely on sheep and cattle, Gerard Noone and the family made the bold decision to diversify into poultry a decade ago. Stephen visits the farm to witness firsthand how the Noones process and package all their own birds on the family farm.
The upcoming episode will also feature the ‘Beekeeper of Inishowen’ – Abdul Ahmed. Six years ago, Adbul and his wife Malik, and their young son settled in Carndonagh after fleeing the war in Syria.
They were warmly welcomed by the community and found a sense of peace in their new home.
Darragh McCullough sat down with Abdul to explore the family’s life before their journey to Ireland and to discover how Abdul turned his passion for bees into a flourishing business.
