A man has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography at his Donegal home.
The man, who aged in his 50s and cannot be named at this stage of the proceedings, appeared before Letterkenny Circuit Court this week.
He was charged with possessing child pornography on May 18, 2022 when gardai raided his home. He was charged that he knowingly had in his possession three images and 10 video files.
When he was formally arraigned before Judge John Aylmer, the accused man said: “I’m guilty”.
Mr Colm Smyth SC, barrister for Steele, asked that his client be remanded on continuing bail. Mr Smyth sought the preparation of a probation report and a psychiatric report on behalf of his client.
Legal aid was extended to cover those reports and Judge Aylmer adjourned the case until the next session of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
