CLG Naomh Ultan has been successful in its battle for a Sports Capital Grant this year.
The club missed out during the allocation of over €12million to Donegal clubs and organisations in September.
But a successful appeal has resulted in €129,628 being awarded for the resurfacing and enhancement of the pitch at Páirc Naomh Ultan.
The club has thanked all local representatives for their invaluable support and committee members for their diligent efforts in securing this grant.
They said: “This funding is especially meaningful as we celebrate our 50th anniversary, ensuring that our facilities will continue to support the club’s growth and success for many years to come.”
Pat The Cope Gallagher, Fianna Fáil election candidate, said: “I am delighted to be informed by Sports Minister Thomas Byrne that the appeal by CLG Naomh Ultan, Dunkineely has been successful and the club has now been awarded their Sports Capital Grant of €129,628.
“I had been actively involved with Minister Byrne since discovering that their initial application was not awarded funding in the Sports Capital Grants announced some weeks ago
“I wish the club continued success in the years ahead. I am grateful to Minister Byrne for his favourable and prompt response.”
