Camp Shamrock, the base camp for Irish peacekeepers in Lebanon, was struck by rocket debris last night.
A rocket, reportedly shot down by Israel, fell onto the grounds occupied by Irish and Polish defence forces.
The rocket is suspected to be a Hezbollah missile on its way to strike an Israeli target.
Minimal damage was caused by the rocket which fell in a location away from any camp buildings. The Chief of Staff for the Irish Defence Forces confirmed that all personnel are safe and well.
UNP 2-45 Camp Shamrock is the base of hundreds of Irish troops, situated near the near the town of At Tiri, 7km from the border with Israel.
