Two of Finn Harps’ brightest up-and-coming academy stars shone on trial with Nottingham Forest over the last ten days.
Oisin Cooney and Gavin McAteer gained valuable experience at the Premier League side, as both youngsters integrated themselves with the Nottingham Forest U21s.
Both Cooney and McAteer stepped into a young Finn Harps team and impressed during their League of Ireland First Division campaign, and both remain under contract to the Ballybofey side which is looking to youth to aid their return to the top flight.
They both played as Forest’s U21s took on Hull City, with Gavin McAteer getting on the scoresheet as the Reds cruised to a 6-1 victory.
