A number of families of those who died or were injured in the Creeslough tragedy will today seek reassurance from Justice Minister Helen McEntee over their call for an independent inquiry into the cause of the tragedy.
The group, the Creeslough Family Support Group, which represents an estimated 40 people who have been directly affected by the explosion, will meet with the Minister in Dublin this afternoon.
Donegal Daily first revealed news of the meeting last week.
The families had been worried that a requested meeting with the Minister would be stalled by the upcoming general election.
There are reports that Environment Minister Eamon Ryan and the Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue will also attend today’s meeting.
