The October bonus payment will benefit pensioners, carers, people with disabilities, and working families, said Fine Gael Senator and election candidate Nikki Bradley.
Senator Bradley said this payment, issued next week, will go a long way in supporting people in Donegal.
“Next week’s double payment will support 1.4 million people across the State and will benefit so many in Donegal
“This is the first of 10 lump sum payments that will help with the cost of living.
“The October Bonus provides a 100% increase in the weekly rate of payment for pensioners, carers and people with disabilities across Donegal.
This will be followed by further supports over the next few weeks, including a €300 lump sum payment for those in receipt of the Fuel Allowance and a €200 lump sum payment for those in receipt of the Living Alone Allowance.
Senator Bradley added “There will also be a €400 Carers and Disability Support payment in November as well as double payments of Child Benefit in both November and December.
“Budget 2025 included the largest social protection package in the history of the State, and will assist households with the Cost of Living through a mix of lump sum payments, targeted supports and increases to weekly payments.
“Fine Gael and Minister Humphreys want to support the people most seriously impacted by the cost of living. This level of support is only possible thanks to Fine Gael’s careful management of the economy.
“I’m delighted to see this payment issued to so many people in Donegal I know it will come as a welcome relief for many”, concluded Senator Bradley.
