Inver teen Joshua Henry has been crowned champion of the Irish Championship Circuit Racing Junior MINI Challenge.
It was no ‘mini’ feat for Joshua, who said he couldn’t have asked for a better end to the season.
Henry’s victory at Mondello Park on Sunday tops off a rookie season of multiple wins, in which he set the class lap record at both Trac Môn Anglesey in Wales and Mondello International Circuit.
In the final race of the MINI championship, Henry started from second on the grid, then quickly took the lead and held off his competitors to secure the win and the overall championship title.
Joshua is the son of Shane and Catriona and expressed gratitude to his parents, uncle David and Max Hart for coaching. He thanked his sponsor Donagh Kelly at the Stables Motorsports Centre for the support and also Eamon Kelly for the help and advice behind the scenes.
Speaking on Monday, he said: “Thanks to everyone who travelled down from Donegal yesterday to watch the race it was great to see the support. Watch my social media to see what 2025 will bring.”
