Gardaí in Donegal have issued a stern road safety warning after a Letterkenny driver was caught going 74kph over the speed limit this morning
Gardaí say the driver was arrested after being caught driving at 174kph on a 100kph stretch of road.
They will now face a court appearance.
Another driver was handed a fine after also being caught significantly over the speed limit during the same checks.
They were handed a fixed charge penalty notice after being detected at 141kph, also on a 100kph road.
Donegal Gardaí have issued a stern warning again to the public about the dangers of speeding after these detections this morning.
“Please do not put everybody you meet on the road at risk by travelling at a high speed. Do not risk your own life either by taking such risks. Always keep within the speed limit.”
“Slow down and save lives.”
