Food Coast Donegal is seeking tenders from qualified individuals or organisations to recruit a Project Manager for the “Food Coast Donegal” initiative. This position is pivotal in promoting Donegal’s food and beverage sector and enhancing the link between tourism, food, and drink.
Project Summary
The successful Project Facilitator will lead the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies for Donegal’s food and beverage offerings. This role involves engaging local food producers, organizing events, and promoting Donegal’s food network to attract tourism and support local businesses.
Contract Information
- Contract Type: Part-time hours (Independent Contractor basis)
- Duration: Subject to project requirements (approximately 20 hours per week). The contract will run for 16 months with an option to extend for a further 16 months subject to funding and contractor performance.
- Location: Donegal, Ireland
- Budget: €18-€20K
Key Responsibilities
- Food and Beverage Promotion: Showcase Donegal’s food and drink through events, marketing campaigns, and partnerships.
- Tourism Attraction: Work with tourism bodies to integrate Donegal’s culinary offerings into the local tourism strategy.
- Membership Growth: Expand the local food network by attracting new businesses.
- Storytelling and PR: Leverage multimedia platforms and storytelling to highlight Donegal’s unique food scene.
- Influencer and Press Engagement: Collaborate with influencers and organize press trips.
- Community Engagement: Build relationships with local producers, chefs, and stakeholders.
Essential Criteria

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, PR, Journalism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a related role with experience in the food and beverage sector, tourism promotion, and event management.
- Skills:
Strong communication and storytelling.
Social media proficiency.
Experience in developing and executing PR campaigns.
Event management skills.
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in the food and drink sector in Ireland.
- Existing relationships with media contacts and influencers.
- Knowledge of local food and drink producers.
