Two Donegal schools have received positive news for their future development.
Scoil Bhride in Convoy has been given approval to proceed to construction with its planned extension.
Meanwhile, Brackey National School in Ardara has been given the green light to move its proposed building project to the tender stage.
Donegal minister, Charlie McConalogue, has welcomed the news.
He said “I’m glad to confirm that Scoil Bhride in Convoy can now proceed to the construction stage with its plans for a new classroom to provide a special class for children with special education needs. This extension has been approved under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme.”
“I’m also happy to confirm that Brackey National School in Ardara has been given approval to move to the tender stage with its application for a new classroom to provide a special class for children with special education needs.
“I welcome these decisions and I thank the Minister for Education, Norma Foley and her team for their help and assistance in relation to the building projects at Scoil Bhride in Convoy and Brackey National School in Ardara,” the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine added.
“I look forward to both extensions being completed as soon as possible and I know that the provision of a new special classroom for children with special education needs will be a huge asset to both schools.”
