Letterkenny University Hospital and Council buildings across Donegal were bathed in blue and pink colours last night for a special remembrance event for baby loss and miscarriage awareness.
The global wave of light takes place on 15th October each year at 7pm on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day.
The event shines a light on the many families who have experienced the loss of a baby during or after pregnancy.
Hospitals, castles, hotels, and iconic landmarks nationwide joined the the Irish charity Féileacáin in coordinating the beautiful display.
A spokesperson for the council said the display at the Lifford County House and Public Service Centres is “in honour and remembrance of all our precious babies in our community. We hope the colours will spark conversations about baby loss and support people affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death.”

The Global Wave Of Light is in memory of all the babies who lit up our lives for such a short time.
By lighting up buildings all over the world, the display seeks to connect thousands of families and to let them know that they are not alone.
Families can join at home too by lighting a candle in memory of the baby or babies they have lost.
