Charles Ward has been revealed as the candidate making a general election bid for the 100% Redress Party.
Mr Ward ran in the local elections this summer in the Lifford/Stranorlar district, gaining 880 first preference votes. He was eliminated in the fourth count with 985 votes.
Charles is a healthcare worker from Arranmore Island now living in Drumkeen with his wife Angela, who is the PRO of the Mica Action Group, and their four children.
As a homeowner impacted by defective building materials, he has first-hand experience of the crisis.
A statement from 100% Redress said: “Charles’ campaign goes beyond the redress issue, he understands that Donegal faces numerous challenges, including a worsening housing crisis, mental health concerns, gaps in education, and an overstretched health service, the county also struggles with aging infrastructure, which affects daily life and economic growth. Agriculture and fisheries, vital to the local economy are facing increasing pressures and these sectors need stronger representation and support at a national level.
