A new yellow box is being added to the incoming lanes of the Four Lane to allow traffic to turn off to the Cullion Road.
The works are expected to be completed in the next few weeks.
Cllr Donal Coyle has welcomed the planned works following his motion asking the council to contact Transport Infrastructure Ireland regarding tailbacks in the busy area.
A response from the council said the installation has been programme but is delayed due to necessary road surface repairs. The repairs are part of the contractor’s maintenance period and should be completed within the next few months. Once the repairs are finished, the yellow box can be installed.
