The family of Buncrana woman Danielle McLaughlin have been dealt another anguishing blow as the trial of her murder accused is delayed again.
Local man Vikat Bhagat sits trial for the murder and rape of 28-year-old Donegal backpacker Danielle in March 2017.
The trial has been on and off for seven years.
Despite being told the verdict would be reached by October, Danielle’s family has again been told there is a delay.
The Irish Mirror reports that another request has been made to extend the trial. A decision on this is expected next week.
Andrea Brannigan, mum of Danielle, said: “I am absolutely so upset by this as it’s another setback”.
Andrea and her daughter Joleen had planned to travel to India for the verdict this month.
