Minister for Justice Helen McEntee says she plans to meet with the relatives of Creeslough tragedy victims who are demanding answers on the investigations.
Minister McEntee said a date will be set to allow families to outline the information they need, two years into the investigation into the fatal explosion.
Three investigations are taking place into the incident in which ten people lost their lives.
The Minister has said that gardaí hope to have a file with the DPP “very shortly” while another probe is underway by the Health and Safety Authority and the energy regulator.
“I think it’s really important that those three investigations can be completed. We need to see the outcome of those,” the Minister told media.
“I will be in Donegal in the coming weeks and I’m very happy to meet with the families to listen to them because I believe they absolutely should be listened to and they need to get the answers they are asking for.”
In recent weeks, families of seven people who died in the tragedy wrote to the Minister calling for a public inquiry. Without information from the ongoing garda investigation, they said that the second greatest tragedy of the explosion is the absence of the truth and lessons learned.
Relatives are due to gather in Creeslough at 3.17pm this afternoon for the second anniversary of the tragedy.
