Social media has reacted in force to a mapping error by the UK government which lays claim to Donegal.
The map, which places the entire county within Northern Ireland, appeared during a video of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s speech at the UN General Assembly in New York.
Such a blunder by Number 10 Downing Street has sparked a mixture of shock and amusement online.
One Reddit user suggested that Donegal lets the UK build some train tracks first, “then we take it back”.
“I think they saw all the gorgeous beach posts,” said another person.
“Pretty sure someone just made a little oopsy woopsy in there mapping,” said another user.
The UK government has since admitted to the error and removed the video from YouTube. However, it remains on the Facebook profile of Keir Starmer, under the caption ‘Britain is stronger when we work with others’.
