A thoughtful Milford schoolgirl has raised an amazing €1,761 alongside a generous hair donation to children in need.
Alisha Rodgers, aged 7, had been growing her hair since 2020. This year she decided to get a new look and donate her locks to the Little Princess Trust. The charity uses donated hair to create wigs for children who have lost their hair due to illness.
Alongside her own donation, Alisha and her classmates at Drumman NS held a Crazy Hair Day, where the entire school got creative with their hairstyles and enjoyed a day of fun and games. Check out the photos here!
On September 20th, Alisha bravely faced the scissors at Headrush Hair and Beauty in Letterkenny. Stylist Dawn cut off not just one, but four healthy plaits, which will be donated to the Little Princess Trust.
Alisha’s proud mum, Sarah said the final fundraising figure “will definitely help the charity that provides wigs for children who has lost their hair due to illness and funding research into better treatments.
“I am so proud of you Alisha throughout this journey she has given us all different hairstyles and with every one came that beautiful smile she is just an inspiration . Well done alisha. Your big sisters and big brother is also very proud.”
