Youth service ‘Involve’ has formally opened a new premises on the Convent Road in Letterkenny in a step towards empowering more young people in the community.
The official opening ceremony on Friday marked a significant milestone for the organisation, which provides support to young people across Ireland.
The new location in Letterkenny represents the latest chapter in Involves ongoing commitment to youth development, offering a safe and supportive space where young people can access essential resources, informal skills training, and community engagement opportunities. This move will enhance Involve’s capacity to deliver innovative youth work programs, fostering personal growth, social inclusion, and life-long learning.
Speaking at the event, Martin Mongan, Regional Coordinator of Involve CLG in Letterkenny, said: “We are delighted to officially open the doors to our new premises here in Letterkenny. This space will allow us to expand our services and create a welcoming environment where young people can develop social skills and the confidence they need to thrive in today’s world. We believe in the potential of every young person, and this new base strengthens our ability to support them on their journey.”
Michael Power, CEO of Involve CLG Ireland, emphasised the importance of the organisation’s work: “At Involve, our mission is to create inclusive opportunities for young people, particularly those from marginalised communities. This new space in Letterkenny is an important step forward in ensuring that more young people have access to the high-quality youth services they deserve. Involve Youth and Community Services operates in seven locations around Ireland, offering a wide range of programs aimed at enhancing life skills, providing a range of supports and activities which are aimed at promoting social integration.
The services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each community regionally, with a focus on fostering leadership, creativity, and resilience among young people.
The success of Involves work in Letterkenny is made possible by the generous support of its funders. The organisation would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB) for their ongoing partnership and funding, which has been instrumental in making the new premises a reality.
