Raphoe Hockey Club were at the receiving end of a dominant Mossley performance in their second group stage game of the Linden Cup this week.
After flying past Portrush 4-1 in their first game of the group stage, Raphoe faced a challenge in a Mossley side fresh from playing Premier League hockey just a season ago.
But Raphoe got off to a fast start, ending the first quarter 1-0 with a goal from Matty Lecky.
However it wasn’t long before the dam burst, Mossley striking three goals in the second quarter before then going on to dominate the second half with seven more goals finding the back of the Raphoe net – leaving the final score 10-1.
Raphoe are far from out of the competition though – a win against Antrim next week would still see the East Donegal men through to the next round of the Linden Cup.
