Ahead of St Michael’s GAA club playing in this afternoon’s Donegal Senior Football Championship semi-final, the parish priest of St Michael’s Church has shown his colours in decorating the building in red and white.
Beloved parish priest of Creeslough and Dunfanaghy Fr John Joe Duffy is a native of Burtonport, but is as raring to go as every one of his parishoners today ahead of the match.
He has taken to decorating St Michael’s Church in the red and white colours of St Michael’s, celebrating the unique connection he has to the local community.
St Michael’s have proven one of the biggest surprises of the Championship so far, and will play Dungloe at MacCumhaills Park in Ballybofey this afternoon for the right to face St Eunan’s in the Donegal Senior Football Championship Final.
Throw-in is at 3:30pm, and Fr John Joe will be far from the only one in the area praying this afternoon once the action gets underway.
