There is widespread sadness following the passing of Danny Walsh.
A true gentleman, Danny passed away overnight at his home at Ballyraine in Letterkenny surrounded by his devoted family for whom he lived for.
A native of Tipperary, Danny settled in the Cathedral Town with his loving wife Rose and family.
Many will know Danny from his time working as a security guard at the old UNIFI plant in the town.
A jovial man, Danny always had time for a chat which was delivered in his strong Tipperary accent which he retained with pride.
Married to Greencastle woman Rose, Danny was so proud of his family including daughters Bernie (Martin) and Mags (Martin) and sons Harry (Patricia) and John (Cathy).
He also doted on his grandchildren including Holly, Megan, Niamh, Freya, James, Danny, Paul, Luke and Ollie as well great-granddaughter, Zia and many nieces and nephews.
Danny was also a popular neighbour along the Ballyraine Road.
Predeceased by his grandchildren Jack and Isabelle, his brothers Sean, Mick, Jimmy and Tommy, sisters Biddy and Mary, he is survived by his brother Packie (Queanbeyan, NSW, Australia) and sister Winnie Thomas (Bridgend, Wales).
