Several quick-thinking Donegal students were honoured at the recent Maths Eyes Final, held at the Department of Education in Marlborough Street.
The competition encourages students to explore the practical applications of mathematics in everyday life, and a number of talented young minds from the region were recognised for their creativity.
In the Under 7 category, Penn Flood (pictured above) from St. Mura’s NS in Tooban, Burnfoot, took home the top prize for the project “equally sports and maths crazy”.
The Under 11 category saw two winners from St Brigid’s NS in Glenmakee, Carndonagh. Tyler Doherty impressed the judges with his project titled “How much did this flock of 24 sheep cost me?”, while Paul O’Donnell’s project, “What do you think the weight difference is?”, also earned him a well-deserved award.
