Donegal rally driver Eamonn Kelly recorded an impressive class win at the Hellendoorn Rally in the Netherlands this weekend.
Kelly and co-driver Rory Kennedy charged to the win in unfamiliar territory, while also adjusting to a new car.
It was the first outing for Kelly’s new BMW M3, but despite that he and Kennedy mastered the Dutch stages, winning the HC1 category and the Historic category as a whole.
By the end, they held a 22.5 second advantage over second-placed Antoine Biesheuvel.
The rally overall was won by Jos Verstappen, the former Formula 1 driver and father to reigning three-time F1 World Champion Max Verstappen.
