Ballyraine 3 – 4 Bonagee United

Neighbours Ballyraine and Bonagee United played out a fantastic match at Ballyare in the Under 16 Plate Final. It was the classic game of two halves with Bonagee edging it in the end. The Dry Arch side took a two-goal lead into half time through the wonderful Ellen Temple, who left the Ballyraine defence without a prayer. In the second half Ballyraine dominated possession with the wind at their backs and got back into the game with a goal from Emer Cassidy. They then equalised when Grace McGlynn forced an OG from a short corner. Ballyraine turned it round completely when Anna Muldoon scored but Bonagee weren’t done yet. Ellen Temple equalised on 72 minutes. Both sides pressed for the winner, and it was Bongaee who got it with Ellen Temple getting her fourth goal of the match. A great game for the neutral and a wonderful advert for girls’ football in Donegal.
Under 16 Trophy Final 2024
Letterkenny Rovers 0 – 5 St Catherine’s
St Catherine’s won the under 16 trophy against Letterkenny Rovers with a 5 – 0 win with goals from Heidi McHugh, Saoirse Gillespie McMenamin (2), Emma Diver and Mollie Elliott. Player of the match was Heidi McHugh.
Under 16 Plaque Final 2024
Keadue Rovers 2 – 1 Mulroy Academy
The plaque final went to Keadue Rovers after they won a very competitive game against Mulroy Academy with Eilish Boyle helping herself to two goals after Grace Begley had given Mulroy the lead just before half time.
Player of the match was Toni Boyle for Keadue.

Semi-Finals
Finn Valley 2 – 0 Bonagee United
Finn Valley came out on top of an end-to-end contest against Bonagee at Dry Arch Park.
In the first half very little separated the sides, Ellen Temple saw her effort go just over the bar for Bonagee where Kyra Gavigan saw her efforts saved by Bonagee shot stopper Khloe Kennedy. Both teams had good phases of play with Cari Callaghan-McElwaine and Kate Gillespie linking up well down the right for Bonagee. On the other side of the pitch Ella Udoku and Caoimhe Sleigh working well for Finn Valley. Just after half time Finn Valley took the lead after good work down the left from Kate McMenamin who squared the ball across to Reah McGlinchey who slotted low into the bottom corner. Bonagee didn’t lay down with Kayla Watson, Ava Harkin and Isla Larkin creating a couple chances off the left for Bonagee but Lily-Jane Floyd stood tall in the Finn Valley goal with Sarah Cambell making some important blocks just in front of her. Bonagee pushed for an equaliser pushing more players up the pitch and it nearly paid off when Ellen Temple slotted home but was called offside. Finn Valley got a second late on when Kate McMenamin received the ball out wide and cut inside and sealed the game for Finn Valley. A great game at Dry Arch which was well reffed by Con McLaughlin.
Letterkenny Rovers 3-1 Glenea United
Following on from the last league game both teams knew this was going to be a tight encounter. Aoise Diver put Rovers ahead on the 12th min, with Aisling McGinley to extend the lead on 14mins. Rovers defence was strong against the advancing runs by Shauna Doohan and Aibhe Cannon for Glenea. In a nail biting second half Glenea pulled on back through Minnie Coyle in 57mins. Amy Moore defended well against Shauna Doohan on 63mins to prevent Glenea from equalising. Aoibhlinn McLaughlin for Rovers went through twice before Aisling McGinley goal on the 70th min secured the victory for Rivers Clara Peoples and Faye Casburn stood out for Rovers with Lucy Doohan and Elon McDermott impressing for Glenea.
Kilmacrennan Celtic 1 – 0 Convoy Arsenal
Kilmacrennan Celtic beat Convoy one nil to reach the final of u14 9-16 placings. In an entertaining and tough game Grace McCafferty gave Kilmacrennan the lead on 12 minutes following a brilliant run after a great pass from Cate Cameron. Kilmacrennan lost Ailbhe Breen and Her replacement Beth Sweeney to injury in a bruising encounter. Convoy tried hard to catch Kilmac on the break, but the Kilmac defence held strong. The excellent Jenna Doherty went closest to scoring for Convoy with a brilliant shot, but Cara McGettigan pulled off a superb save in nets for Kilmac turning the ball over the bar.

Cappry Rovers 3 – 0 Donegal Town
Under 14 Globe Final 2024
Swilly Rovers 5 – 0 Dunfanaghy Youths
Swilly Rovers won the Under 14 Globe final against Dunfanaghy Youths with goals from Kiri Sweeney, Ava Greer and a hattrick from Anna Pshenychna.
Under 12 Rosebowl Final 2024
Gweedore United A 0 – 4 Ballyraine Harps
Scorers: Cassie Diffley, Maria Wenelska (2), Hanna Carty
Player of the Match – Maria Wenelska
Ballyraine Harps won the rescheduled tie against Gweedore United A with goals from Maria Wenelska, Hanna Carty and Cassie Diffley. Maria Wenelska was a thorn in Gweedore United sides the whole match with her direct running down the left hand side and deserved her player of the match award.
Under 12 Charity Shield 2024
Bonagee United 5 – 1 Gweedore Celtic
Scorers: Bonagee – Eabha Gribben (2), Leah Scott, Leila Coyle(2)
Gweedore Celtic – Emily Ward
Player of the Match – Enya Logue
Bonagee United under 12 beat a very young Gweedore Celtic in the Charity Shield with goals from Eabha Gribben, Leah Scott and Leila Coyle. The Gweedore side managed a consolation from Emily Ward. Despite being on the losing side, Celtic’s Enya Logue won player of the match with a great display. The charities who benefitted were Donegal Cancer Flights and Jigsaw.
Under 12 Globe Final 2024
Finn Valley B 3 – 2 Drumkeen United
Finn Valley Women’s FC U12 Development team won the Globe final against Drumkeen United Football Club this evening in the Finn Valley centre. The score was 3-2 with Saoirse McMenamin getting a hat-trick for Finn Valley and Sofia Foley with 2 for Drumkeen. A fabulous game of football with some great skills on display from both sides.
