Two Councillors put forward motions calling on Donegal County Council to provide new bus shelters in Drumkeen.
Both Cllr Martin Scanlon and Cllr Dakota NicMheanman made the call at this week’s monthly meeting of the Lifford-Stranorlar Municipal District (MD).
Cllr Scanlon pointed out that, currently, there is no shelter for those waiting for the bus in Drumkeen village who are travelling in the Ballybofey direction.
Meanwhile, Cllr NicMheanman said an additional shelter is needed opposite the old N13 Service Station at nearby Callan (main pic).
There were also calls for similar structures in Killygordon, Castlefin and Lifford.
In response, Senior Roads Engineer, Clare McGeever, said the provision of bus shelters is not a matter for Donegal County Council.
“The NTA (National Transport Authority) are currently examining bus stops/shelters in the county. The council can raise this location with them,” she told the meeting.
