A man who once worked on the Londonderry and Lough Swilly Railway (L&LSR) has started a search to hear from former colleagues.
Francis Eugene Campbell, a native of Burt, is now living in England. Aged 96, Francis recalls many stories and names from his time on the railways.
His son, Noel Campbell, is assisting him with his mission to reconnect with anyone who may still be alive from that era.
Contacting the Donegal Railway Heritage Museum, Noel asked: “My parents were born in Donegal close to Derry City and Buncrana and although my Mother died a few years ago my father lives on at the age of 96 in England.
“He would be interested to hear if or from anyone who may be still alive who worked with him on the Loch (sic) Swilly Railway until its closure in 1953. His name is Francis Eugene Campbell and was previously from Burt, Donegal on the main road between Letterkenny and Derry.
“He has many stories to tell and recalls many names of the people who worked there at that time. I can forward the names of people he worked with if that would help any further.
“If anyone has any information I would be grateful to receive it.”
