A young Newtowncunningham man will run the Dublin Marathon this year to give back to a wonderful service that supports his brother.
Scott Neeson (27) was inspired by his brother Brett to take on the marathon challenge.
Brett (21) is autistic and also has an intellectual disability, sensory processing disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder. He is non-verbal and has very specific daily needs.
Scott has set out to fundraise for Verve, a Community Inclusion service based which Brett attends in Letterkenny. With his peers, Brett is afforded the opportunity to partake in many therapeutic interventions that benefit his needs greatly.
Scott said: “Many opportunities are limited within disability services and Verve is no exception. But, Brett would be lost without this wonderful service, where he has learnt many valuable skills and had so much care, attention and fun.”
Scott’s training has been in full swing this year as he aims to raise funds for Verve. If you would like to support his journey, please visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/donegal-autism-supports
