A County Leitrim village just minutes from the border with Donegal has produced a €1 million EuroMillions winning ticket.
It was sold on Friday the 6th of September at the Spar on Main Street in Kinlough, County Leitrim – just a 15 minute drive from Bundoran.
The winning Quick Pick EuroMillions ticket has bagged the unidentified winner a life-changing €1,005,000!
In a statement announcing the winning ticket, the National Lottery is urging players who may have visited the Spar store on the Main Street in Kinlough to purchase their EuroMillions ticket on Friday 6th September, to carefully check their tickets. The winning Raffle code was I-RCJ-65292.
The winner is being advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe, and to make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie for arrangements to be made to collect their prize.
Shop owner Noel McGowan was delighted to hear the news and told the National Lottery that his store is no stranger to big wins.
“We have had our fair share of big wins over the years and we never get sick of getting the call from the National Lottery to say that we’ve had another. Back in 2016, we sold a Lotto jackpot ticket worth over €11 million and we also had a top prize €1 million Dailly Million ticket back in 2019. We have even had two Lotto Plus 2 top prize wins and we also had two winners share in a Lotto jackpot as well so our customers have been incredibly lucky.”
“This is our first big EuroMillions win so it’s very exciting. To think that one of our customers now has a ticket worth over €1 million is wonderful news. We have a team of 24 working here in store and the buzz has been growing since the news got out. Our store is located just two miles from Bundoran so you can imagine how busy we are with passing trade as well as locals. We’ll be hoping the winner checks their ticket soon and realises what they’ve won!”
