Councillor Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly has welcomed new road safety measures recently put in place at a dangerous junction outside Letterkenny.

“After a number of years pushing for Newmills Bridge to be resurfaced and an anti-skid surface put in place, I’m glad that these works have been carried out and completed,” he said.

“This junction has seen a number of accidents down the years and I hope that these measures will now help make this junction a lot safer for all road users.”

Cllr Kelly also welcomed the upgrade to the hard shoulder from the Newmills Carpark to the same junction.

“These works make this walkway to Newmills Corn and Flax Mills a lot safer for pedestrians.

I want to thank the DCC Roads Maintenance crew for taking my concerns on board and ensuring a top job was completed.”
