Two Donegal artists – Moya Brennan and Carol Wilson are among those featured on the newly released homeless charity album ‘Kindness on the Streets’ – in aid of Belfast homeless charity The People’s Kitchen.
The album, out now, also features music from well-known national and international artists including Ralph McTell, Mary Black, Frances Black, Rumer, Damien Dempsey, Richmond Fontaine, Judie Tzuke and more.
Clannad legend Moya Brennan contributed the track ‘Where you belong’ to the album and Rathmullan artist Carol Wilson sings ‘Moonlight streets’.
Damian McNairney, Volunteer and Trustee, The People’s Kitchen, Belfast said: “If this were a vinyl record, it would have two sides. The second side would feature songs that reflect the harshness of life on the streets, and the realities of addiction, mental health, and loneliness faced by many in such dire circumstances. The first side features songs that reflect the Kindness to be found among the homeless community and the volunteers.”
The album is dedicated to all those who use the services of The People’s Kitchen, Belfast, and all the Volunteers, past, present, and in the future.
The album contains 20 songs, and costs £10.00. All proceeds go to The People’s Kitchen
