Para cyclist Katie-George Dunlevy and pilot Linda Kelly have won Ireland’s first gold medal in the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Dunlevy, who has Donegal connections, put in an unbelievable performance to complete the women’s B individual time trial in 38:16.58.
This is Dunlevy’s second Paralympic medal this year, having won silver with Eve McCrystal in the Women’s B 3000m Individual Pursuit with a time of 3:21.315.
In 2023, Dunlevy partnered with new pilot Linda Kelly to win double gold at the 2023 UCI World Championships.
Dunlevy, a former rower competing for Great Britain, was born in Crawley and her father John is from a well known Mountcharles family. She is a member of the Donegal Bay Cycling Club.
Paris is Dunlevy’s fourth Paralympic Games and Kelly’s first.
