Questions have been raised over the €335,000 cost of constructing a new bike shed at Leinster House.
The sheltered bicycle rack, which opened outside the Dáil in April, has space for 18 bikes.
After strong criticism was raised over the expense, Minister with Responsibility for the Office of Public Works Kieran O’Donnell has called for a review.
It’s reported the project price tag included €3,000 was spent on archaeological services, €11,000 for quantity surveying costs, while €222,282 was spent on the main construction and installation.
Minister Eamon Ryan said the shelter seemed to be “incredibly expensive”.
Speaking to media, he said he would raise his concerns with the OPW, adding: “I must admit I was shocked when I saw the price, we need to do things cheaper than that all over the country.”
