Greencastle Community Centre is rallying together to knit warmth for children in need.
A sewing drive is being organised to create hats and scarves for the Team Hope shoebox appeal. The Team Hope charity delivers shoeboxes filled with gifts to children in developing countries.
The drive will take place over four weeks starting on Tuesday 24th September 11am – 1pm. All knitting levels are welcome, from seasoned pros to beginners just learning the ropes. The event will provide a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for participants to knit, chat, and contribute to a meaningful cause.
“We’re excited to bring people together for this heart-warming initiative,” said Susan McAleer, organiser of the knitting drive.
“Knitting is a wonderful way to relax and socialise. With the help of hugely talented local knitter, Monica Kitson, we are encouraging everyone in the community to join us and help spread some cheer this winter.”
The knitted items will be donated to Team Hope, a charity that delivers shoeboxes filled with gifts to children in developing countries. By participating in the knitting drive, individuals can help ensure that these children have a warm and comfortable winter.
