On an excellent day for golf, Barnhill Golf Club presented a good challenge for the large turn-out of society members.
James McFadden took top spot on Maureen Sweeney’s Captain’s Day on a fine score of 38 Stableford points, just pipping Ciaran Williamson on a break of a tie with a better back-nine.
Just behind the top two finishers on 37 points was Kieran Doherty in third spot with Pauric McHugh in fourth place on 36 points. Section Winners were Eunan McGlynn, Sandra McMonagle, Noel Duggan and Charlie McHugh.
In her address Society Captain thanks everyone for turning out for her big day saying it had been a pleasure and honour to take on the role for 2024, and despite some weather issue had effected the schedule and an injury which had curtailed her from playing she had really enjoyed her year as Captain of the Society.
She thanked Barnhill Golf Club for hosting the event and Noreen and her staff for the excellent food and service they had provided for the society members.
Maureen also thanked her three main sponsors for the day, McGee’s Chemist, County Dry Cleaners and the Letterkenny Hospitals Sports and Leisure Club for their much appreciated support.
