One Donegal school is undertaking a marathon (well a half!) effort to help improve the lives of children at their school.
The fifteen members of staff at St Aengus’ in Bridgend are putting their running shoes on for the Derry Waterside Half Marathon this Sunday, September 1st.
A spokesperson for the school said “We are fundraising for our amazing new Autism Classrooms.
“Our Autism Classrooms provide a wonderful learning environment and are very beneficial in supporting the students of our school.
“Our staff have a range of running and sporting experience and we are very much looking forward to the challenge. We have 15 members of staff running individually and in relay teams.
“All donations are greatly appreciated and thank you in advance for your contribution.”
Certain members of staff undertaking the challenge may have an advantage as they are well-known GAA players.
But that won’t the other teachers from trying to beat Mr Kelly and Mr Gallen to the finish line!
A Go Fund Me page has been set up for the event which you can donate to at https://www.gofundme.com/f/staengus-half-marathon
