The family of two young men killed in a crash on the Inishowen Peninsula say they are in a “living nightmare.”
Cousins Kían and Eoghán Dawson died after the car in which they were traveling struck a wall and ended up in a field at Cross in Quigley’s Point on Saturday night.
Kían, 16, died at the scene and Eoghán, 20, passed away this afternoon from his injuries at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
Kían was a front seat passenger while Eoghán was driving the car.
The family of the two tragic young men, from Carnhill in Derry, say they are just devastated by what has happened.
They released a statement this afternoon confirming the two young men’s deaths and also issuing a request to the public to support a Go Fund Me appeal to cover the expenses of their funderals.
The family said “We are the family of the boys involved in the recent tragedy. A quick trip to their favourite place soon turned into a living nightmare.
“Two beautiful cousins Eoghán, 20, and Kían, 16, were involved in a fatal road accident and now will remain forever young.
“We would be extremely grateful if you could please donate what you can to help cover funeral costs and alleviate the pressure from our devastated family. Thank you.”
