The Donegal Community Games team were in action in Carlow for the National Community Games Finals last weekend.
Twenty-three competitors representing communities across the county participated.
Eli Duffy from the Rosses secured the only medal for Donegal on the day, winning bronze in the Javelin competition.
All the athletes did Donegal proud. Co-managers Manus O’Donnell and Jennifer Hunter said it was a privilege to be part of the Donegal team.
It was a long day, starting at 10am and continuing until 8pm, with the U10 80m sprint as the final event.
Zara Friel from Fanad narrowly missed out on a medal, as did her sister Megan in their respective finals. Nevertheless, participating in the National Finals was a fantastic experience for all the young athletes.
The Donegal Community Games committee were thrilled to see such a strong turnout from the county.
“We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for taking part in Community games and travelling to Carlow,” they said.
