Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision that occurred near Inver yesterday morning.
Shortly before 9am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the N56.
A woman in her 80s was taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of her injuries which are believed to be serious.
A man (50s) and a woman (40s) were also taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of their injuries believed to be non life-threatening.
The road remains closed and investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users or pedestrians who were on the N56 between 8.30am and 9am and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.

It was another bad weekend on Donegal roads with the death of a teenanger in an Inishowen crash on Saturday night.
Kian Dawson, aged 16, had come from neighbouring Derry earlier in the evening along with his friend.
Football-mad Kian, from Carnhill in the city, was a front-seat passenger in the car which crashed at Cross, Quigley’s Point at 11.15pm.
The two young men were the occupants in the car which appeared to go out of control before striking a wall and ending up in a field.
Kian died at the scene and the driver of the car suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for emergency treatment.
Meanwhile, Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
