An east Donegal community centre is to receive €150,000 in funding to improve its facilities and reduce its energy usage.
The CPI in Castlefin has confirmed it has been awarded €100,000 in order to upgrade its playpark and a further €50,000 to help decarbonise.
“€100,000 was secured to upgrade our playpark facilities which are in need of this investment,” a CPI spokesperson said.
“The cost of energy has put pressure on our operations for the past few years and this €50,000 support from the Climate Action Fund is very welcome. This funding was part of a joint cross border application with Derry and Strabane District Council who also received €50,000.”
CPI thanked Stephen Kennedy and Sylvia McGlinchey who put a lot of work into the applications and a special thanks to Chris Irwin and Cathy Burns without whose help and experience it would have been difficult to secure these very competitive funds.
