One of Donegal’s best-known tourist attractions is set to close until at least the beginning of 2025.
The Glebe House, Gallery and Gardens is one of the county’s most loved and visited attractions.
Boasting stunning gardens, the Derek Hill collection and beautiful tea rooms, Glebe House welcomes thousands of visitors each year to the Gartan area
But the facility is now to close for a period beginning on the 2nd of September 2024 to facilitate a major conservation programme of works.
A statement from Glebe House said the grounds will re-open as soon as possible but it is not envisaged that this will be before January 2025 while Glebe Gallery and Glebe House will re-open in phases for the summer of 2025.
The site will not be open for Easter 2025.
A spokesperson said “We truly regret any inconvenience this causes our visitors, but we are excited to be able to progress these much needed works in advance of our bicentenary in 2028. Updates will be posted on our social media of the works.”
