James Rodgers, one of the organisers, said: “I want to thank the Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf Club for hosting the Classic once again and particular mention to Club President Pat Mc Caughan, Lady Captain Brid Devenney, and Captain Dermot O Neill for their cooperation and collaboration leading up to the event and again on the day.
“The course was in excellent condition, and this is testament to the work of the greens staff and greens Convenor Barry Mc Menamin.
“As usual, Mary McHugh and Tanya Doherty and their staff provided everyone with a warm welcome and excellent service.”
“The Golf Classic is a very important fundraiser for the Academy, and I want to acknowledge the main sponsors on the day and they are; Gerard Browne Tool Hire, Joseph Mc Menamin And Sons Building Contractors, Mc Nultys Mace Stranorlar, Marley’s Travel, LaffertyBuses, and Bizzprint. Also, I want to thank Kernans and IMotors for their sponsorship and support to the Academy this year again and in the past. We had many Tee And Greens sponsors, and I want to thank them for their contributions. Moreover, I want to thank all of the teams that took part for their support and for making the day such a success.
James continued: “I want to thank Elizabeth Rodgers, Celine Friel, Aisling Dignam, and John Campbell who were there at the crack of dawn to ensure the smooth running of the event. John is part of the organizing committee along with Aisling, all of whom work tremendously hard on behalf of the Academy.
“As I said, this is a very important fundraiser for the Academy, and I know the Head of Academy Kevin Mc Hugh is appreciative of all the support as it supplies the necessary resources to support our Academy players on their journey to one day play for the Finn Harps first team.”
