A teenage boy has been charged in connection with the stabbing of an army chaplain in County Galway.
The chaplain, Fr Paul Murphy, remains in a serious condition in hospital after the shocking attack.
He suffered multiple stab wounds in the assault which took place at the Renmore Army Barracks late on Thursday night.
Gardaí confirmed that the teenager arrested in connection with the stabbing has now been charged, and is set to appear at Galway District Court this afternoon.
Gardaí have also confirmed that their investigations are still ongoing into the matter.
