A young Donegal mother is finally making her way home after suffering a medical emergency in Spain.
Tracey McGowan (main pic), from Ballybofey, was on holiday with her husband Paul and their young children two weeks ago when she became ill.
She was rushed to a local hospital where her condition was stabilised, however, she was not well enough to travel home. As a result, her family had to stay in Spain to be at her bedside. Thankfully, she is now on her way home but will need further medical attention here, a family spokesperson told Donegal Daily.
In order to support the family financially, Tracey’s friends at the Evolve Health and Fitness gym in Ballybofey have organised a fundraising drive. A marathon 12 hour sponsored cycle will also take place at the Roadhouse Bar, Ballybofey, this Saturday.
Beginning at 8am, a relay team will continue on exercise bikes until 8pm. Donations will be accepted on the day and a raffle will also be held. Already, a jersey signed by the Donegal team has been donated along with a number of other super prizes.
TWO elusive Electric Picnic tickets have also been donated and are available to the highest bidder!
To bid for the tickets, and to make donations or pledge raffle prizes, contact Elaine on 0863610648.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has also been set up. To donate, click on the following link: https://gofund.me/d8bbdcba
All monies raised will go directly to the McGowan family to meet their current and future costs.
