Plans to build 13 new houses in east Donegal have been withdrawn after concerns were raised by a number of authorities.
Last year, Nien Properties Ltd sought permission for the new development at Admiran, Stranorlar, on the Letterkenny road adjacent to Lough Alaan.
The proposed development was to consist of two-storey houses and upgrading of existing vehicular entrance, including a new right hand turning lane.
However, according to planning documents, the application was withdrawn in recent weeks after concerns were raised.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) said it believed the application was at variance with its policy on development on, or affecting, national roads.
Meanwhile, Uisce Eireann asked the applicant to submit details of Foul Pumping Station site layout, sections and specification to be of Uisce Eireann standard. The existing Cast Iron main, it added, is of poor water pressure and poor water quality. It advised the applicant would need to replace the water main from McClay’s corner for 850m to the site development entrance.
The Loughs Agency noted that part of the site was on a flood plain.
In withdrawing its application, the developer’s architect stated they would ‘genuinely appreciate’ an early meeting to address the outstanding issues with all concerned.
