Jim McGuinness and county star Michael Langan last week helped launch Donegal’s newest adventure race in aid of underage development at St Michael’s GAA club.
The pair were joined by former Donegal forward, and North West Coastal Challenge committee member, Colm McFadden for the launch at The Bridge.
Described as Donegals’ newest adventure race, it will take place on Saturday, 5th October, at the Bridge, Dunfanaghy. The event is a run, cycle and kayak, covering 36 km over the rugged northwest coastline.
The run section features a course across the scenic trails to Tramore Beach and back.
Competitors will then cycle from the St Michael’s GAA Pitch via the N56 and turn up at Derryreel with scenic views of Tory Island and Muckish Mountain along the way. They will then transition at Purt Lake for the kayak section of the race.
Finally, they cycle back to St Michael’s GAA Club, passing by the Old Railway Walk Trailhead and through Portnablagh on the way.
