A vibrant community event in Portsalon and Fanad has raised an amazing €3,200 for the Lough Swilly RNLI branch.
The day-long fundraiser on Saturday was filled with music, activities, a quiz, and a fun Taylor Swift themed beach party!
Local men Michael Alcorn and Seamus Martin, who were rescued by the Lough Swilly Lifeboat crew just weeks ago, were instrumental in organising the event alongside the Portsalon community.
The event kicked off with a walk and swim on Portsalon Beach, followed by a Swiftie celebration that included glitzy costumes on the beach that was visited by the star a number of years ago. The festivities culminated in a quiz at the Lighthouse Tavern.
Michael was grateful to be able to mark the quiz thanks to having been saved by the RNLI.
“Be us onboard or cast adrift we are so thankful for the Lough Swilly Lifeboats,” organisers said.
